Don Cherry thinks NHL's new plan is great PR move
Don Cherry took to Twitter to voice his opinion about the NHL’s latest attempt to end the lockout. And he can’t help but be impressed by the league.
"What a PR move by [Gary] Bettman and the NHL," he tweeted Wednesday through his verified account.
"Donald Fehr said no negotiations until another proposal. Well here it is. Bettman says put up or shut up..to top it all off they have to have this done by a certain time or they won’t have a full season. "
After a month-long standstill, the NHL tabled a new offer to the NHLPA on Tuesday, with the main piece of the new deal being a 50-50 split of hockey-related revenue. The deal was drawn up in the hope of starting a full 82-game season on Nov. 2.
This isn’t the first time Cherry has taken to Twitter to voice his opinion about the work stoppage.
The Coach's Corner star used the social networking site on Monday to muse about Guy Lafleur’s recent comments on keeping Europeans in the KHL to make more room in the NHL for more Canadians.
Last week, Cherry said players who were voicing their displeasure with the league through Twitter and the media were only making the owners more determined.
