Quiz: What does it take to acquire a restricted rifle in Canada?
In May 2016, British Columbia MP Bob Zimmer presented a petition in the House of Commons seeking to make the AR-15, a rifle very similar to the weapon used in the Orlando mass shooting, a less restricted weapon.
The AR-15 is currently listed as a restricted weapon, meaning it's not banned but you need a special licence to purchase.
With gun ownership laws currently under fire in the U.S., one has to wonder: what does it take to obtain a restricted weapon licence in Canada?
Take a yes or no guess, to qualify do you have to disclose:
Mental health information?
Your religion?
The breakups you've had in the last two years?
Your income?
Recent job losses?
The names and contact information of all conjugal partners you've lived with in the last two years?
