The Candy Palmater Show

Want to live a fuller life? Start by organizing your stuff

Professional organizer Betsi Simmons says organizing isn’t about living a clutter-free life, it’s about connecting to what you have.

Professional organizer Betsi Simmons wants to empower people through organization. She started small: re-arranging things at the back of the restaurant where she worked, helping friends de-clutter their living rooms.

Now, she works with her clients to help them connect with their stuff again and thus connect with themselves. Her work ranges from hoarding situations; to seniors who need to downside while moving to retirement homes; to CEOs and professional athletes whose busy schedules don't leave time for home organization.

Betsi talks to Candy about what our stuff says about stress levels and relationships, and how to improve all aspects of life by re-organizing your living space. And she gives Candy some ideas for how to organize her stuff in her new apartment, which is much smaller than before.
